Rob “Woozle” Laferrière is owner of Woozle Harmonicas, where he provides Harmonica Maintenance, Customization, Sales, and Lessons. Robert Laferriere is certified as a Seydel Service Partner.
The Woozle Effect is Rob's one-man-band show. Specializing in "Recycled Sound," Rob loops together original and cover material using his self-customized harmonicas and home-built "guitars." The process is oddly self-referential: loop upon loop, piling up to form something greater than the sum of its parts. It's a sort of DIY Blues that takes notes from other genres and styles to express itself.
The performances are loop based, and so the songs literally refer back to themselves,: recycled over and over, layer upon layer, to give the impression of a much larger band all performing at once. The covers, remixes, and original material blend together, and are performed on instruments made from recycled materials and found objects like toasters, ammo cans, and hockey sticks.

What a blast from the past! Those are phenomenal instruments.
Just got my Merlin about a week ago and the thing is so addicting. Can already play a couple of "tweaked" songs. After years of fumbling with other instruments, I think I finally have a true "gateway-drug" instrument that is going to allow/help me progress at a good level, especially coming to playing later in life. Stay well. Great version of that song, BTW.

Alas, Google Plus groups were discontinued a few years ago now. I seem to recall a guy out of the UK converting things over to a website of some sort, but I'm not sure what came of that.

Some time ago I did the same with sticky tape (flipped it back on itself and used a little part to fix it). Went way better than I expected. However, after some time the taste was funny so I removed it again. Now I own a Lucky 13 in diminished tuning where all the blow slots are valved. You almost get addicted to the sound.

Thanks. The fretting is based in a dulcimer or strumstick. The hockey stick logos have worn in nicely over the years since so built it.
I covered PFs "Mother" and am a retired guitarist. My dad was in 3 branches of the service and he left a lot of ammo boxes. Hmm...what to do with them...maybe I'll make them into stringed instruments...
